Do you remember your favorite book from childhood?

I do not remember much from my childhood. There are large gaps in my memory, well past adolescence. I came from a family of divorce. My first 7 years of life my dad raised me and I don’t specifically remember him ever reading to me. Despite this, I do remember my favorite book during this time being Goodnight Moon. I haven’t touched the book in adulthood, but I’m pretty sure it’s about a kid saying goodnight to a bunch of different inanimate objects and it ends with saying goodnight to the moon. Whenever I would fly between California and Michigan to visit my mom I would tell whichever state I was leaving “goodbye.” I think this book being my favorite as a child makes sense because I grew up to be extremely empathetic. Rarely do we ever change from who we were as children, adults just learn to mask it.
