My favorite mugs, my favorite thing that my boyfriend and I brought home from our trip to Scotland in 2023. One is black, the other is matching in white. They have a brass emblem on them depicting the castle in Edinburgh, where we stayed. I was supposed to go alone on that trip, I was going because my adopted parents had a timeshare in the highlands. I had this trip planned for months when a cute boy walked into my work, I worked at a dispensary. As luck would have it, I was able to assist the cute boy and as it turns out, he was my manager’s brother in law. Neither me or the boy had enough nerve to say something to eachother but I had to tease with my manager that I thought he was cute. To my surprise he teased back “he’s siiiingleeee…” My manager messaged the cute boy that night, telling him what I said. I didn’t know this until weeks later when he came into my work again. I said something aaaagain to my manager and he told me he texted him but forgot to tell me “he said I could give you his instagram.” I followed him immediately and he messaged me shortly after. He asked me to go on a date the very next day. We did, and it was magic. Nervous, familiar, magic. Quickly we learned there are countless similarities between us. Our second date wasn’t until almost a week later. It was the day before thanksgiving when it started and a little past midnight when we didn’t want it to end. I still needed to drive home to Temecula from LA, so we said our goodbyes. On his way out he finally asked if he could kiss me. He joked “Our first thanksgiving together.”

When I woke up for the day, I began catching up with my adopted mother. I told her “I met a cute boy…” to which she merely responded “Good. Invite him to go to Scotland with you.” Of course, I immediately texted him. Of course, he booked his flights that same day with seats next to mine. December 9th, 2023 only a few weeks after our first date, we were on our way to a foreign country together. It became all the more evident on this trip how interconnected our souls were. We ran into big setbacks in the beginning of the trip. Missing our connecting flight which caused a 12 hour layover, not being able to pick up our rental car because I didn’t plan properly. But it didn’t matter because we were together. Our ability to overcome things together made me feel safe in a way I never had before. We never got to the timeshare in the highlands but we fell in love with Edinburgh. We fell in love with each other. On our last night there, we picked up our two mugs.

May we sip from them till death due us eternity, Cheers.
